Fuzzy
Fuzzy

Can refer to one of two things

1. Fuzzy (Offense)

Technical Definition-A type of mix up where the attacker first forces the defender to block high with an overhead. The overhead provides enough frame advantage that the attacker can attempt an instant overhead before the defender's character model can move, allowing the defender to be hit by the instant overhead if they were blocking low even if their character model appeared to be blocking high. Tall characters are more likely to be susceptible to fuzzies because of their large hurtboxes. When used in conjunction with lows, fuzzies can create 50/50s.

In Other Words-"I said sit down. Are you deaf Bradley? I said sit down. Bradley, it's very important that you sit down. Now for the last time, try again to sit down! Sit down, you big stupid ape!"-Seinfeld Season 7 Episode 23

2. Fuzzy (Defense)

Technical Definition-A defensive option select that allows a player to defend against multiple offensive options by buffering another defensive option during blockstun. Because the defender is unable to act while in blockstun, the buffered option will only come out if there is a gap in the blockstring. The most common use is fuzzy guarding, which allows a defender to block both high and low options by switching the position of their guard with certain timings. Fuzzy guarding can only work on moves that do not hit on the same frame, as the difference in frames allows the defender time to switch their guard. Can also be extended to other options such as fuzzy jump to beat throws or fuzzy poke to beat staggers.

In Other Words-Equivalent to a boxer being able to bob and weave while covering up at the same time to avoid multiple types of strikes.

1. SonicFox sets up a fuzzy with a late j.M into instant j.H. The j.H hits NecroUndine even though Cell appears to be stand blocking.

2. Steve fuzzy guards both versions of Paul's f,f+2,1 by quickly buffering d/b. This ducks the high option and blocks the overhead option.
