Technical Definition-A term used to refer to the mid range game where players are trying to stay inside the maximum range of their own moves while simultaneously trying to stay just outside the maximum range of their opponent's moves. Often characterized by lots of walking/dashing back and forth, sticking out pokes, and whiff punishing. Can also be used to describe a trait held by a character or player. A character is said to have good footsies if they have control space well with their normals. Players can be said to have good footsies meaning they are adept at spacing their attacks and whiff punishing their opponents.

In Other Words-"Jones has an 84.5 inch wingspan with 34.5 inch long arms. That means Jones can easily keep opponents at bay as well as land blows from over 3 feet away, well outside the range of most opponents."-Sports Science: Jon Jones' Reach Advantage
